Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (2024)

Welcome to the Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide!Almost all of the trophies in this game come automatically from the story.Basically, go for all Collectibles and complete the Story and mop up remaining Combat Trophies via Chapter Select. You can even play on Custom difficulty to make it as easy as you want it to be. There are no difficulty-related trophies and playing on Custom difficulty still unlocks everything.

There’s basically just 1 step to this platinum. Play through the story & follow theCollectible Guideas you go.

Combat trophies that must be done against specific enemy types are included in the Collectible Guide as well. All Collectibles are missable! The problem is that Chapter Select reverts your progress to what you had when you first playeda Chapter. It doesn’t import your progress from your most current save. Your Collectible Progress & Choices also don’t update from Chapter Select, thus Chapter Select is useless for completion purposes. Follow theCollectible Guideand try not to miss anything.

Save in a different Slot at the start of every Chapter. If you miss anything you can reload the previous Manual Save and don’t need to replay the entire game. The story is quite lengthy, taking about 20 hours with Collectibles on Easy difficulty. There are no difficulty-related trophies, so feel free to play on Custom Difficultyto make it even easier.

If you’re still missing some Combat trophies, you can quickly get those via Chapter Select. If you missed out on the 65% Compendium trophy you’d need to play through New Game Plus.

Simply have the PS4saves on your PS5 console (can transfer it from PS4 via USB or PS+ Cloud). The PS5 version automatically pulls the PS4 saves from your system storage. In the TItle Screen of the PS5 version, click “Migrate Saves”. Then close the game, boot it up again, and migrate saves a 2nd time. Then it will autopop all trophies instantly including platinum. For some reason it doesn’t pop the trophies when migrating saves the first time, you have to reboot the game and migrate again to get it to work. This can be done completely offline. Save Transfer only works from old gen to new gen (PS4 > PS5), not the other way around. So you’d have to platinum the PS4 version first to autopop the trophies on PS5.

Invest in at least one Special Ability for Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (58)Each of your team members has 3 unlockable abilities (they start with1 already unlocked + 3 you can buy for ability points). Buy one ability for each team member. For this trophy the cheapest ones for 2 Ability Points will suffice. You get Ability Points automatically from combat encounters, each encounter fills up the XP bar to the next ability point, then you can buy abilities in the Guardians menu. You will get this trophy automatically while going forGuardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (59)Fully Loaded, which requires you to buy ALL abilities for all characters.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (60)Fully Loaded
Invest in all Special Abilities for all Companions.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (61)For this you must unlock all 4 abilities forall 5 team member (Drax, Gamora, Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot). You get Ability Points automatically from combat encounters, each encounter fills up the XP bar to the next ability point, then you can buy abilities in the Guardians menu. During the story you automatically get more than enough ability points, can’t miss it. The earliest you can unlock this is in Chapter 14 because that’s where the last Groot ability unlocks from story progress.

The first ability of each character is automatically unlocked from the start. The 2nd ability costs 2 ability points, the 3rd ability costs 3 ability points, the 4th ability is automatically unlocked from story progress and doesn’t cost any points (those unlock between chapters 11-14). In total you need to spend 5 ability points per character x 5 characters = 25 ability points total.

  • Drax’s 4th ability =Chapter 12, automatically from story progress
  • Gamora’s 4th ability =Chapter 12, automatically from story progress
  • Star-Lord’s 4th ability =Chapter 10, automatically from story progress
  • Rocket’s 4th ability =Chapter 11, automatically from story progress
  • Groot’s 4th ability = Chapter 14, automatically from story progress

Potential Bug & Fix: If you already bought everything for ability points and the trophy doesn’t unlock when getting Groot’s 4th ability in Chapter 14, you can fix it by replaying Chapter 13. The trophy will then unlock after defeating the Chapter 13 boss “Fin Fang Foom”, after the chapter ends and the screen fades to black. HOWEVER, be warned that replaying chapters RESETS your collectible progress! Only do this if you already got all other trophies, or if youhave a manual save game backup on USB/PS+ Cloud that you can restore afterward (Console Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Console Storage > Upload to Cloud Storage— also make sure you turned off automatic save uploads so it doesn’t automatically overwrite your Cloud save when exiting the game).
If this doesn’t fix the trophy for you, try starting a New Game (not New Game Plus) and rebuy a skill in Chapter 1.

It’s believed that the cause for the bugis having bought all abilities before unlocking Groot’s4th ability in Chapter 14. As a precaution, it’s best to keep at least one ability unpurchased until you have unlocked Groot’s last ability (after landing your spaceship at the start of Chapter 14). The tracker on PS5 for this trophy also shows the wrong total number.

Stagger 25 enemies.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (74)To stagger enemies use Drax’s “Destroy” ability during combat – Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (75) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (76) > Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (77) Destroy. Do this to 25 enemies. Should come naturally over the course of the game.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (78)No Way, Nova Corps
Interrupt a Nova Centurion with Gamora’s Call to Action.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (79)Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (80)

Nova Centurions can be found in Chapter 7. They are the blue jetpack enemies that have much more health thanthe average enemies. During battle you will sometimes get a Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (81) prompt, press the button when it shows up and Gomora should perform her “Call to Action” that unlocks this trophy.

It’s a bit random which of your teammates will do the Call of Action on the Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (82) prompt, it’s not always Gamora. The prompt tends to show up when the enemy is at low health or gets staggered. You can switch difficulty to Normal or Hard and let the other team members go down, only revive Gamora, then it should beher who does the Call of Action and not the others. If Gamora never performs this attack, restart from Last Checkpoint and redo the combat encounter.

Slakebeastscan be found in Chapter 3. They are the big blue monsters with squid facesthat have much more health thanthe average enemies. During battle you will sometimes get a Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (89) prompt, press the button when it shows up andDrax should perform his “Call to Action” that unlocks this trophy.

It’s a bit random which of your teammates will do the Call of Action on the Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (90) prompt, it’s not always Drax. You can switch difficulty to Normal or Hard and let the other team members go down, only revive Drax, then it should behim who does the Call of Action and not the others.IfDrax never performs this attack, restart from Last Checkpoint and redo the combat encounter.

Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (94)Groot Canal
Interrupt a Charger with Groot’s Call to Action.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (95)Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (96)

Chargers can be found in Chapter 10 & 13. In Chapter 10 they are the monsters called “Ogrode” that look like golems with a brown head and come running at you. In Chapter 13 they are the Wendigo that look like big gorillas. Either of these works for the trophy. You must weaken the enemy first and wait for Groot to walk up to him and grab him by the neck. Then the Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (97) prompt will show up. It has to be specifically the prompt where Groot first lifts up the enemy with his hands. The problem is that Groot rarely does it and in most encounter he will never ever attempt this at all no matter how long you wait. So unlike for the other trophies, letting your teammates go down doesn’t necessarily help with this.

Your best bet is to do it in Chapter 10 against the first Ogrode encounter. Weaken the enemies so they are near death (about 15% health left). Then just hope to get lucky that Groot grabs the enemies by their throat and lifts them up in the air. If Groot isn’t doing it, restart the encounter and keep trying. It took me about 30 minutes of trying and 10-15 checkpoint restarts until he did it once, entirely luck-dependent.

Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (101)Drax the Dismemberer
Dismember an Inquisitor with Drax’s Call to Action.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (102)Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (103)

Inquisitor can be found in Chapter 7. It’s a robotic enemy with a red laser eye. You can do this trophy against the very first one you encounter.During battle you will sometimes get a Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (104) prompt, press the button when it shows up andwith some luck Draxshould perform his “Call to Action” that unlocks this trophy. He will rip out one of the Inquisitor’s arms (it doesn’t matter if you do it when he has both arms remaining, or has only one arm remaining).

It’s a bit random which of your teammates will do the Call of Action on the Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (105) prompt, it’s not always Drax. The prompt tends to show up when the enemy is at low health. For this one do NOT stagger him, just damage the Inquisitor with your guns. If it’s staggered, the Call to Action seems to bug out. You can also switch difficulty to Normal or Hard and let the other team members go down, only revive Drax, then it should be him who does the Call of Action and not the others.IfDrax never performs this attack, restart from Last Checkpoint and redo the combat encounter. If it still doesn’t work, don’t worry, there are many more Inquisitor enemies later in the game, you can try it against any other one.

Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (109)Unstoppable Force
Attain the maximum possible Momentum 10 times.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (110)Get a “Marvelous” rating across 10 enemy encounters. This is the score shown by the purple bar in the left corner of the screen, during combat encounters only. To keep up your score you must kill the enemies in quick succession and not let too much time pass without dealing any damage. This will come naturally early in the game and is guaranteed to unlock automatically over the course of the story.Don’t worry about this.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (111)The Crowd Goes Wild
Execute a Flair Attack 10 times.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (112)Flair Attacks are the Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (113) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (114)finisher moves that sometimes show up when enemies are at low health. Go near an enemythat has little health remaining and press this button prompt when it shows up above the enemy. This will perform an animationof each team member attacking the enemy once, thus defeating it. Do this a total of 10 times.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (115)Set ’em Up, Knock ’em Down
Defeat 15 Staggered enemies with a Charged Shot.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (116)First you must go to a workbench and buy the Perk “Charged Shot” (costs 600 basic components + 100 advanced components). You can find a workbench in your spaceship, but also throughout the story chapters. The materials are scattered throughout the chapters.

Nowyou can double press and hold Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (117) topower up a Charged Shot, release Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (118) to shoot. After staggering (stunning) an enemy, kill it with such a Charged Shot. Repeat on 15 enemies. The easiest way to stagger enemies is by using your elemental guns, e.g. the ice or electricity elements. Weak enemies will be staggered when they’re frozen or electrocuted and stop moving, and tougher enemies have a white bar below their health that shows their stagger progress. This trophy works on both enemy types. You can also use other team member’s stagger abilities, such as Drax’s starting ability “Destory”.

The fastest way to farm it is in Chapter 11. About 10 minutes into the chapter you will encounter lots of worm enemies that come from nests. They keep spawning infinitely unless you destroy the nests. The good thing about these is that they have little health and 1 hit from the electric elemental gun immediately stuns them. Weaken some of these worms and when they have less than 30% health left, stun them with electric gun and then do a charge shot to kill them. Can farm the trophy here in 5 minutes (also a great place for all other combat-related trophies).

Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (119)Bullet Hell
Defeat 15 enemies with Star-Lord’s Fan the Hammer ability.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (120)Buy Peter Quill’s ability “Fan the Hammer” (costs 2 ability points), activate it during combat with Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (121) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (122) to shoot bullets at enemies. Kill a total of 15 enemies with this skill, across multiple uses. You don’t need to kill 15 in one use, this isn’t possible anyway. You can kill one at a time, let the ability recharge and do it again at the next combat encounter. It doesn’t need to be done in one combat encounter either, can do it over the course of the game in different places.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (123)Adding Injury to Insult
Defeat 10 enemies affected by Drax’s Wrath of Katath ability.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (124)Wrath of the Katathis the last (4th) ability for Drax. It’s unlocked automatically during Chapter 12 from story progress, can’t miss it. It can then be used with Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (125) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (126) > Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (127) . This puts a red icon above affected enemies’ health bars. While enemies have this icon you need to defeat them to count towards this trophy. You don’t need to kill them yourself, it also counts if you use team members’ abilities. A good method is to follow up with abilities that deal damage over a wide area, by combining Rocket’s “Cluster Flark Bomb”, Groot’s “Uproot”, Star-Lord’s “Eye of the Hurricane”.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (128)Trained to Perfection
Defeat 10 enemies with Gamora’s Executioner ability.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (129)Executioneris the last (4th) ability for Gamora. It’s unlocked automatically during Chapter 12 from story progress, can’t miss it. It can then be used with Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (130) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (131) > Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (132) . Thisdeals super heavy damage to a single target. Kill 10 enemies using this ability.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (133)Boom Show
Defeat 20 enemies with Rocket’s Five Barrel Barrage.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (134)Five Barrel Barrage is the last (4th) ability for Rocket. It’s unlocked automatically during Chapter 11 from story progress, can’t miss it. It can then be used with Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (135) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (136) > Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (137) . This fires projectiles in front of Rocket and deals massive damage. Kill 20 enemies using this ability.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (138)Herbal Remedy
Revive or Heal Companions 10 times with Groot’s Gift of the Florae.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (139)Gift of the Floraeis the last (4th) ability for Groot. It’s unlocked automatically during Chapter 14 from story progress, can’t miss it. It can then be used with Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (140) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (141) > Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (142) . Thisheals/revives all allies.Uses this ability 2-3 times should be enough, as it heals all 5 characters with each use.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (143)Altitude Adjustment
Defeat 20 enemies with Star-Lord’s Eye of the Hurricane.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (144)Buy Peter Quill’s ability “Eye of the Hurricane” (costs3 ability points), activate it during combat with Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (145) + Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (146) to shoot projectiles in a circular area around you. Kill a total of 20 enemies with this skill, across multiple uses. You should weaken the enemies first so that they have only 30% health left, then they should die in one hit by Eye of the Hurricane. You don’t need to kill20 in one use, this isn’t possible anyway. You can kill one at a time, let the ability recharge and do it again at the next combat encounter. It doesn’t need to be done in one combat encounter either, can do it over the course of the game in different places.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (147)Killer Friendship

Execute an Auto-Combo with Rocket.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (154)Press Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (155) repeatedly to initiate a melee combo on an enemy while being near Rocket, then he will join in and hit the enemy with you together. This is the trickiest of the 4 Auto Combo trophies to do, because Rocket is a ranged fighter and always runs away from enemies. You must get a bit lucky to have Rocket stand very close to an enemy (within 1-2 meters of him) and then melee attack the enemy. Because all other team members use melee they will usually come to help you and be closer to the enemy than Rocket. It just takes a bit of luck thatother team members are far away from the enemy and Rocketbeingnextto the enemy. This gets easier after unlocking the Wind elemental guns in Chapter 10, which can be used to pull enemies to where you are standing.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (156)Timber!

Potential Bug when transferring Save from PS4 to PS5: If you’re autopopping the trophies by migrating your PS4 save to PS5, this one might not unlock correctly. A fix that works for some users is to replay chapter 6 and buy items there you didn’t get before, especially the doll from Collector’s Emporium (Guardian Collectible for Gamora), and then on your spaceship interact with this doll and/or other Guardian Collectibles whose conversations you haven’t triggered before. If this doesn’t pop the trophy, you may need to delete your PS5 save games and start a completely new game on PS5 and replay until Chapter 7, the trophy pops after finding the Commendation Medal for Star-Lord in Ko-Rels office if you didn’t miss any Guardian Collectibles up until that point.

Pay your Nova Corps fine.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (170)*MISSABLE*– If you spend too many of your Galactic Units in Chapter 6, you won’t have enough left to pay the fine in Chapter 9! For trophy purposes it’s best to not spend any Credits in Chapter 6! There are some bonus items you can buy in Chapter 6 but none of them are mandatory for any trophies, so skip them.

The Nova Corps fine can only be paid in Chapter 9. After talking to the Worldmind, you get to choose whether to pay the fine (7000-9000 Galactic Credits) or to cancel the payment. For this trophy you must choose to pay the fine. If you didn’t do this the first time, you can simply replay the Chapter via Chapter Select. Your fine will be 7000 if you hid the Llama in Chapter 2 or 8000 if you hid Rocket’s Weapons Cache in Chapter 2. Regardlessof your choices, you will get more than enough money in Chapter 4 – there you can either sell Groot to Lady Hellbender, or offer her Rocket for sale and then rob the Vault for the Credits. Just make sure you DON’T spend too many credits in Chapter 6 at the Knowhere marketplace on items, keep AT LEAST 8000 Galactic Units to be able to pay your fine later in Chapter 9.

Win the bet against Rocket.Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (172)The bet against Rocket takes place automatically in Chapter 1. When destroying the first parasite nest as part of the story, Rocket will activate a score tracker at the top of the screen. The challenge is to destroy more parasite nests throughout Chapter 1 than he does. The challenge completes later in the Chapter, after running across the roof of your spaceship, during a cutscene where Rocket & Groot reunite. If your score is higher than Rocket’s at this point, you will earn the trophy. If not, you can easily redo it via Chapter Select or in a new game. Because it takes place in the very first chapter you can quickly get back there. It’s quite easy to win, the parasite nests all get marked yellow in your Visor Vision ( Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide & Roadmap (173) ).
