Welcome to the Guardians of the Galaxy Trophy Guide!Almost all of the trophies in this game come automatically from the story.Basically, go for all Collectibles and complete the Story and mop up remaining Combat Trophies via Chapter Select. You can even play on Custom difficulty to make it as easy as you want it to be. There are no difficulty-related trophies and playing on Custom difficulty still unlocks everything.
There’s basically just 1 step to this platinum. Play through the story & follow theCollectible Guideas you go.
Combat trophies that must be done against specific enemy types are included in the Collectible Guide as well. All Collectibles are missable! The problem is that Chapter Select reverts your progress to what you had when you first playeda Chapter. It doesn’t import your progress from your most current save. Your Collectible Progress & Choices also don’t update from Chapter Select, thus Chapter Select is useless for completion purposes. Follow theCollectible Guideand try not to miss anything.
Save in a different Slot at the start of every Chapter. If you miss anything you can reload the previous Manual Save and don’t need to replay the entire game. The story is quite lengthy, taking about 20 hours with Collectibles on Easy difficulty. There are no difficulty-related trophies, so feel free to play on Custom Difficultyto make it even easier.
If you’re still missing some Combat trophies, you can quickly get those via Chapter Select. If you missed out on the 65% Compendium trophy you’d need to play through New Game Plus.
Simply have the PS4saves on your PS5 console (can transfer it from PS4 via USB or PS+ Cloud). The PS5 version automatically pulls the PS4 saves from your system storage. In the TItle Screen of the PS5 version, click “Migrate Saves”. Then close the game, boot it up again, and migrate saves a 2nd time. Then it will autopop all trophies instantly including platinum. For some reason it doesn’t pop the trophies when migrating saves the first time, you have to reboot the game and migrate again to get it to work. This can be done completely offline. Save Transfer only works from old gen to new gen (PS4 > PS5), not the other way around. So you’d have to platinum the PS4 version first to autopop the trophies on PS5.

The 2nd ability costs 2 ability points, the 3rd ability costs 3 ability points, the 4th ability is automatically unlocked from story progress and doesn’t cost any points (those unlock between chapters 11-14). In total you need to spend 5 ability points per character x 5 characters = 25 ability points total.

Potential Bug & Fix: If you already bought everything for ability points and the trophy doesn’t unlock when getting Groot’s 4th ability in Chapter 14, you can fix it by replaying Chapter 13. The trophy will then unlock after defeating the Chapter 13 boss “Fin Fang Foom”, after the chapter ends and the screen fades to black. HOWEVER, be warned that replaying chapters RESETS your collectible progress! Only do this if you already got all other trophies, or if youhave a manual save game backup on USB/PS+ Cloud that you can restore afterward (Console Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Console Storage > Upload to Cloud Storage— also make sure you turned off automatic save uploads so it doesn’t automatically overwrite your Cloud save when exiting the game).
If this doesn’t fix the trophy for you, try starting a New Game (not New Game Plus) and rebuy a skill in Chapter 1.
It’s believed that the cause for the bugis having bought all abilities before unlocking Groot’s4th ability in Chapter 14. As a precaution, it’s best to keep at least one ability unpurchased until you have unlocked Groot’s last ability (after landing your spaceship at the start of Chapter 14). The tracker on PS5 for this trophy also shows the wrong total number.

Interrupt a Nova Centurion with Gamora’s Call to Action.
Nova Centurions can be found in Chapter 7. They are the blue jetpack enemies that have much more health thanthe average enemies. During battle you will sometimes get a prompt, press the button when it shows up and Gomora should perform her “Call to Action” that unlocks this trophy.
It’s a bit random which of your teammates will do the Call of Action on the prompt, it’s not always Gamora. The prompt tends to show up when the enemy is at low health or gets staggered. You can switch difficulty to Normal or Hard and let the other team members go down, only revive Gamora, then it should beher who does the Call of Action and not the others. If Gamora never performs this attack, restart from Last Checkpoint and redo the combat encounter.

Slakebeastscan be found in Chapter 3. They are the big blue monsters with squid facesthat have much more health thanthe average enemies. During battle you will sometimes get a prompt, press the button when it shows up andDrax should perform his “Call to Action” that unlocks this trophy.

Interrupt a Charger with Groot’s Call to Action.
Chargers can be found in Chapter 10 & 13. In Chapter 10 they are the monsters called “Ogrode” that look like golems with a brown head and come running at you. In Chapter 13 they are the Wendigo that look like big gorillas. Either of these works for the trophy. You must weaken the enemy first and wait for Groot to walk up to him and grab him by the neck. Then the prompt will show up. It has to be specifically the prompt where Groot first lifts up the enemy with his hands. The problem is that Groot rarely does it and in most encounter he will never ever attempt this at all no matter how long you wait. So unlike for the other trophies, letting your teammates go down doesn’t necessarily help with this.
Your best bet is to do it in Chapter 10 against the first Ogrode encounter. Weaken the enemies so they are near death (about 15% health left). Then just hope to get lucky that Groot grabs the enemies by their throat and lifts them up in the air. If Groot isn’t doing it, restart the encounter and keep trying. It took me about 30 minutes of trying and 10-15 checkpoint restarts until he did it once, entirely luck-dependent.

Dismember an Inquisitor with Drax’s Call to Action.
Inquisitor can be found in Chapter 7. It’s a robotic enemy with a red laser eye. You can do this trophy against the very first one you encounter.During battle you will sometimes get a prompt, press the button when it shows up andwith some luck Draxshould perform his “Call to Action” that unlocks this trophy. He will rip out one of the Inquisitor’s arms (it doesn’t matter if you do it when he has both arms remaining, or has only one arm remaining).
It’s a bit random which of your teammates will do the Call of Action on the prompt, it’s not always Drax. The prompt tends to show up when the enemy is at low health. For this one do NOT stagger him, just damage the Inquisitor with your guns. If it’s staggered, the Call to Action seems to bug out. You can also switch difficulty to Normal or Hard and let the other team members go down, only revive Drax, then it should be him who does the Call of Action and not the others.IfDrax never performs this attack, restart from Last Checkpoint and redo the combat encounter. If it still doesn’t work, don’t worry, there are many more Inquisitor enemies later in the game, you can try it against any other one.

Attain the maximum possible Momentum 10 times.
Execute a Flair Attack 10 times.
Defeat 15 Staggered enemies with a Charged Shot.
Nowyou can double press and hold topower up a Charged Shot, release to shoot. After staggering (stunning) an enemy, kill it with such a Charged Shot. Repeat on 15 enemies. The easiest way to stagger enemies is by using your elemental guns, e.g. the ice or electricity elements. Weak enemies will be staggered when they’re frozen or electrocuted and stop moving, and tougher enemies have a white bar below their health that shows their stagger progress. This trophy works on both enemy types. You can also use other team member’s stagger abilities, such as Drax’s starting ability “Destory”.
The fastest way to farm it is in Chapter 11. About 10 minutes into the chapter you will encounter lots of worm enemies that come from nests. They keep spawning infinitely unless you destroy the nests. The good thing about these is that they have little health and 1 hit from the electric elemental gun immediately stuns them. Weaken some of these worms and when they have less than 30% health left, stun them with electric gun and then do a charge shot to kill them. Can farm the trophy here in 5 minutes (also a great place for all other combat-related trophies).
Defeat 15 enemies with Star-Lord’s Fan the Hammer ability.
Defeat 10 enemies affected by Drax’s Wrath of Katath ability.

Potential Bug when transferring Save from PS4 to PS5: If you’re autopopping the trophies by migrating your PS4 save to PS5, this one might not unlock correctly. A fix that works for some users is to replay chapter 6 and buy items there you didn’t get before, especially the doll from Collector’s Emporium (Guardian Collectible for Gamora), and then on your spaceship interact with this doll and/or other Guardian Collectibles whose conversations you haven’t triggered before. If this doesn’t pop the trophy, you may need to delete your PS5 save games and start a completely new game on PS5 and replay until Chapter 7, the trophy pops after finding the Commendation Medal for Star-Lord in Ko-Rels office if you didn’t miss any Guardian Collectibles up until that point.

Collect 65 % of all Galactic Compendium entries of each category.
Pay your Nova Corps fine.
The Nova Corps fine can only be paid in Chapter 9. After talking to the Worldmind, you get to choose whether to pay the fine (7000-9000 Galactic Credits) or to cancel the payment. For this trophy you must choose to pay the fine. If you didn’t do this the first time, you can simply replay the Chapter via Chapter Select. Your fine will be 7000 if you hid the Llama in Chapter 2 or 8000 if you hid Rocket’s Weapons Cache in Chapter 2. Regardlessof your choices, you will get more than enough money in Chapter 4 – there you can either sell Groot to Lady Hellbender, or offer her Rocket for sale and then rob the Vault for the Credits. Just make sure you DON’T spend too many credits in Chapter 6 at the Knowhere marketplace on items, keep AT LEAST 8000 Galactic Units to be able to pay your fine later in Chapter 9.
Win the bet against Rocket.
